As I said in a previous post, there is no perfect sandwich. Each sandwich can claim a higher post on the ladder to perfection, though, if one is thoughtful about what one piles onto the slices of bread.
This one got really great reviews. I got an excited text during Joshua’s lunch break, complete with exclamation points and general wow.
Try this at home:
+ mixed greens, like spinach and arugula (Joshua is a huge fan of arugula)
+ slice heirloom tomatoes, at least covering the surface, if not layered
+ thick slices of a very sharp white Cheddar (I used this one)
+ hot, whole-grain mustard
+ multigrain bread
Broil the sandwich without the top on, to melt the cheese; pop the top back on and broil for a few more moments to toast.
Joshua says: 10 out of 10. Easy win.
